If you find yourself needing to make updates to your plans… know that you are NOT alone!
Not by a long shot.
We live in a world that has changed RAPIDLY, and many of us are still scrambling to catch up. All of those amazing plans you came up with last year? Chances are, you are still tweaking them on the fly with each new month.
And that is okay!!
In fact, I want to make it easier for you.
As you make updates to your plans and come up with 2021-friendly revisions, I want you to consider including three things in your plan for the upcoming season.
1. A marketing element. How are people going to connect with you? How will you be SHOWING UP? This includes nurturing relationships not only with your prospects but with your current and past clients. Make sure that you have a solid marketing strategy in place to keep people thinking of you and your offers in the next few months.
2. A revenue-generating activity. Next season, where and how will you deliver value to your customers? How will you be serving people? Where will this exchange happen? Are you putting together a fabulous new offer, dusting off an old favorite, or coming up with something completely different?
3. Readiness. When you don’t know what’s coming around the corner, you need to be ready for ANYTHING. That’s why, when planning out your next season, you need to make sure you have a readiness plan. My photography business was put on hold this year due to the lockdowns because we shoot in person. Thanks to our readiness plan, we are in a position where we can quickly mobilize to re-engage as locations begin to open up again. No extra planning, just good to go!
The final piece of advice? These three elements for your business plan (along with everything else that you do) are meant to support your vision for your business. Keep that top of mind as you put together your new plan, and you’ll always be on track to hit your goals.
