7 Days. No Laptop. Did My Business Survive?
There’s a quiet kind of fear most business owners carry, we build, we hustle, we grow… but what happens if we’re suddenly out for a week?
No checking in. No late-night Slack messages. No quick “just one thing” emails.
That’s what I call the Vacation Test, and this time, I took it in one of the most breathtaking, unpredictable places on Earth: the Kenyan Savannah.
What’s the Vacation Test?
Simple, but game-changing. Three questions:
1. Can you take a full 7 days away?
2. Can you do it without your team or clients having direct access to you?
3. Can you come back without needing another vacation just to recover?
Last time I tried in Morocco, I stumbled hard. This time? It was different.
Picture this: Hippos wading beside our lodge. My team back home, holding it down. Lions circling our vehicle. Me… actively not checking email.
Was it perfect? No.
Was it necessary? Absolutely.
Running a business without being the bottleneck is one of the hardest things to nail, but it's the only way to scale and create freedom truly.
So… did I pass the Vacation Test this time?
You’ll have to hear the full story: what worked, where I wobbled, and how you can set your business up for real, sustainable freedom.
