I was trying to think of an interesting and enticing intro to tee up this blog post, but it wasn’t flowing. It was HARD WORK. I probably spent about two hours on it… Went on to write something else, came back, tried again… It just wasn’t happening. The content still smelled funny. Then I realized I just needed to delete the crap content and get straight to my point.
I didn’t give up, chuck the whole post – I kept at it, but I changed my style. I reframed my measure of success, ditched the mind game I was playing with myself, and opted for easy.
We are taught that it takes hard work and elbow grease to succeed and get ahead.
I beg to differ.
Our chances of success soar if the work we do is easy.
Easy means:
Do what feels good.
Do what aligns with your soul purpose – the thing you breath to do.
Do what make sense – trust your gut.
When you do that – when you align the way you show up in the world with your soul purpose – you are living your gorgeous truth and everything gets easier.
It just flows.
And people notice.
They want what you’ve got because it just looks so right.
You will likely still have to work hard depending on how much bigger you want to play, but it won’t feel like hard work.
It will feel like divine bliss.
Contrary to what I was taught in high-school, easy wins.
Dare to be easy.
You know I want to hear from you in the comments.
Commit to Play Bigger in 2012
Having trouble uncovering your soul purpose or feel stuck playing small? Join me on an 8 week journey to uncover your bliss, bring more happiness into your life, push through the fear, and start playing bigger. This is the first time I’m offering this program in this way so you’ll be able to take advantage of an introductory rate plus everyone who signs up will receive a copy of Danielle Laporte’s new book The Fire Starter Sessions. You want it. She hot and she’ll make you even hotter than you already are.

While creating and launching my recent site, I had to ignore ‘great expectations’ and listen intently to my emotional warrior. She was willing to be courageous at times when I second guessed myself or thought I needed to ‘pitch perfect’.
I like how you define what ‘easy’ is: “OUR CHANCES OF SUCCESS SOAR IF THE WORK WE DO IS EASY. Do what feels good, do what aligns with your soul purpose – the thing you breath to do, do what make sense – trust your gut. When you do that – when you align the way you show up in the world with your soul purpose – you are living your gorgeous truth and everything gets easier.”
So important to surrender to the soul’s ‘sole’ purpose. True work begins when we identify with what our unique gift is and not back down from it’s rarity. Divine bliss is up for grabs – for anyone.
The future is left to those of us willing to get our hand’s and soul’s dirty!
Leona, I like your style!
I’m going to name my emotional warrior so I can call her to front lines when I need her.

Amber
Yes, I know I need to be more focused on my purpose through my own personal journey. Also, there is a HUGE difference between working hard and hard work, that is so true. I remember reading someplace that working hard and working smart should also be highlighted in our daily practice with our work. Working smart is SO different and so much more empowering. Your program looks amazing and I am loving the idea of rolling up our sleeves to get our work DONE however, do it with both ease and grace. Thanks for putting some more pep in my step!
Thank YOU for your kind comments, Nasrine! Getting it done with ease and grace. I love that.
Amen… gosh I can’t tell you the hours I’ve spent trying to reconfigure something to make it seemingly brilliant…. Thank you for this… I still struggle with trusting my gut when my brain is running interference, but I have totally nailed the other two… This week I will dare to be easy!
How’s your dare fairing?
xo,
Amber
Hi Amber!
Great post! I’ve been working on the trust myself part this last month! But oh, it’s so hard to rewire that part of my brain that thinks everything …must….be…hard!
Seriously. It is hard wired that if we do the work, we’ll make it. But the work has to be fun and be work we love too – people will pick up on our energy and it will happen. In the change management world, I call this the genie effect. When the change you are working toward just seems to naturally unfold.
Life changing Amber! The world would be a much happier place if we all tried to make things easier both for ourselves and for others.
I love you calling to make it easy for ourselves and OTHERs.
I so hear you on this – especially on writing the post. Most of the time, my writing flows. But last week, I labored – and I do mean labored – over one post. It was hours and hours. I questioned and doubted and changed my mind. On one post! I wish I had you there telling me that this was a sign
Because it is – or was. I should have known that. There have been too many times in my business that it has been a struggle – and struggling just doesn’t work. At all. I would swear that struggle – which is not just working hard – sends out the complete opposite energy we want (and then it stinkin’ comes right back to us!). I am bookmarking this for when I need the reminder!

WOW! When it feels good….do it….things that are right, feel fantastic, they flow and they come easy! When you force things ….they feel forced, not only to the one consuming but also to the one delivering. I mean it feel manufactured…un natural…and yep, it may smell a little FUNKY!
